Bureau of Maternal & Child Health (BMCH) Coordinator Training

Target Audience This program is designed for State and local agency personnel working in a management capacity with the Family Case Management Program, especially Registered nurses, Nutritionists and Dietitians.

Description Purpose: To enable the learner to be fluent in the policies and practices for the Family Case Management Program in order to ensure that local service providers have the knowledge and skills required to meet state program standards.

Performance Objectives Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Describe an overview of the Community Health Training Center
  • Discuss the MCH (Maternal Child Health Code as it pertains to the FCMP (Family Case Management Program
  • Describe how to develop a local agency policy manual
  • Explain the role of outreach in providing exemplary FCM services in achieving/maintaining caseload
  • Identify strategies for finding and keeping superior employees.
  • Discuss the theories of Quality Assurance and how to utilize the Quality Assurance tools in their agencies
  • Discuss the Department of Human Services FCM Administrative Review
  • Describe the local agency’s responsibility as it pertains to caseload management for the FCM Program
  • Describe the Illinois Dept. of Human Services Family Case Management Contract Attachment
  • Identify the Family Case Management Other Documents
  • Describe the differing job responsibilities as well as the joint responsibilities of Central Office Program Staff and Community Support Services Consultants
