This training provides Level 1 CPA Assistants with the skills to complete anthropometric measurements, bloodwork, secondary education and provide program explanation (related to core food packages, use of EBT card and WIC ID card explanation).

Additional Information

By the end of this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the history, purpose and requirements of the WIC Program.
  • Offer basic, low risk nutrition education.
  • Provide basic breastfeeding counseling and support.
  • Navigate WIC MIS, including searching for participant records, scheduling appointments, assigning food packages, issuing EBT benefits, and where to add notes and alerts.
  • Collect and document participant anthropometric data and bloodwork.
  • Complete secondary education (individual, WIChealth, SSM or Group).
  • Assist with providing an explanation of the Program’s purpose.
  • Make appropriate referrals and document in WIC MIS.
