IDHS MCH – Nurse Navigators
Purpose: To enable the learner to have the knowledge and skills required to meet program standards as a nurse in the Better Birth Outcomes – Comprehensive (BBO-C) and/or High Risk Family Case Management (HRFCM) programs. This in-person training is designed to give Maternal Child Health Nurses an overview of their role in the IDHS prevention-focused MCH programs to prioritize the engagement between the dyad and their medical home. The course will explore the nurses’ role to support health literacy when engaging with birthing families in the community public health setting. However, please note that this course is not an ESPDT course, as the DHS programs are not intended to be a replacement for assessments done by the medical home.
*Registration for this course closes one week prior to the training date.
