The Movement

Established in 1926, the Springfield Urban League Inc. is a human service corporation and direct service organization that serves over 9,000 people each year in urban communities through job training, computer literacy, economic development, health, and youth initiatives.

2025 G.B. Winston Scholarship Application | Deadline March 31st

Invest in Your Future – Earn Up to $1,000 in Scholarship Funds!

Are you a first-time graduating high school senior or a current college student with aspirations of higher education? The G.B. Winston Scholarship is here to support your academic journey. This scholarship provides up to $1,000 in financial assistance to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.

Eligibility Criteria:

✔ Must be a graduating high school senior or current college student residing in Springfield or Sangamon County.
✔ Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a non-weighted 4.0 scale.
✔ Plan to enroll or currently attend an accredited community college or four-year college/university as a full-time student in the upcoming academic year.
✔ Exhibit leadership skills and active involvement in community service.

Application Deadline: March 31, 2025
