Trainings
WIC Coordinator Training
Provide guidance on the responsibilities of a WIC Coordinator, to ensure compliance with WIC program policies and federal regulations at the local agency level.
IWIC Frontline Training
This training will provide training on WIC policy, income and eligibility determination, and a “hands-on” approach to the IWIC software system including: client enrollment, referring and scheduling clients and EBT issuance.
IWIC Competent Professional Authority Training
Purpose: To enable staff serving as Competent Professional Authorities (CPA) in the WIC program with the skills and information needed in order to provide services to participants.
Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training
An interactive workshop series designed for the new Peer Counselor. This training course provides an orientation and identifies the primary roles and responsibilities of the peer counselor.

Illinois WIC Nutrition Education Materials and Resources
There are multiple ways to deliver secondary nutrition education (group sessions, individual education, self-study modules, support groups, web education). The Illinois WIC Program provides the following materials to assist local WIC agencies in incorporating concepts that engage the learner and meet the program expectations. Local WIC agencies should refer to the Nutrition Practice Guideline Standard-Effective Nutrition Education for details on requirements.

WIC Material Order Form 8.2025
The order form must be filled in electronically and should be submitted to DHS.WICMaterials@illinois.gov for processing. Hand written and faxed requests will not be processed. Currently order are taking 6 – 8 weeks to be fulfilled. Agencies should keep inventory of handouts and make bulk orders quarterly to avoid stock being depleted.
WIC Talks
These nutrition education topics include guidance for group, self-study (SSM) and individual education. The format uses emotion based concepts and is interactive, using facilitated group discussions and activities.
